As she qualified for Wednesday britain’s Dina Asher-Smith underlined her status as preferred for the 200m world title.
The 23-year-old planet 100m silver medallist won her semi-final in 22.16 seconds – the fastest time of the afternoon.
Her hopes of getting the first British woman to win a world sprint title increased together with winner Elaine Thompson’s withdrawal.
The final at Doha’s Khalifa Stadium starts at 20:35 BST.
Compatriots Jodie Williams and Beth Dobbin failed to make up for the closing.
The time of asher-Smith proved to be a third of a second quicker than the second fastest qualifier, the Brittany Brown of USA. American winner Anglerne Annelus also characterized by winning her semi-final in 22.49.
The stars look aligned with the Thompson joining Dutch defending winner Dafne Schippers bronze medallist Marie-Josee Ta Lou and 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce one of the contenders to get pulled away of Jamaica. The Blessing Okagbare, who’d run quicker than the Briton this year of nigeria, was disqualified in her warmth on Monday.

Rabah Yousif, 32, was the only Briton to qualify to get the 400m semi-finals of Wednesday’s men since he finished third in his heat. Winner Matthew Hudson-Smith had to be assisted off the trail and suffered an injury once less than 100m.
“I am surprised I felt great. I was not too stiff so that I simply had to come and give it a go,” said Yousif, who has competed in 2 4x400m races.
“I need another few gears.”
Grenada’s Kirani James, who won the world title in 2011 and gold at London 2012, was the fastest qualifier within 44.94 seconds. Two of the favorites having both operate under this season, Fred Kerley and USA’s Michael Norman, are also.
Olympic and world champion and world record holder Wayde van Niekerk neglected to recover from a knee injury in time for the Championships.
In the women’s 400m, Emily Diamond and Britons Laviai Nielsen dropped out to a location in Thursday’s final. Olympic winner Miller-Uibo will be the favorite and eased into the final.
Both Western bronze medallist Meghan Beesley and Jessica Turner qualified for the 400m hurdles semi-finals of Wednesday. The pair finished third in their respective heats.
“I’ve had a great two years now, I am feeling powerful today,” Beesley told BBC Sport. “I expect I can go out there tomorrow and step it up a bit.”
USA set Dalilah Muhammad and Sydney McLaughlin improved. Olympic champion Muhammad, 29, is the hot favourite having put a new world record – 52.20 minutes – at the national trials.
From the men’s 3,000 m steeplechase heats, the sole representative of Britain, Zak Seddon, finished seventh in his warmth and missed out on a spot in Friday’s final.
The USA surged at the trophy table after three gold medals on day five, including Noah Lyles’ success in the men’s 200m.
Further success came from the men’s pole vault Swedish prodigy Armand Duplantis and final, that was a titanic tussle between defending champion Sam Kendricks that was American.
It seemed the 19-year-old European winner had up it when he cleared 5.97m together with his third effort, before the American matched his feat to a roar within the Khalifa International Stadium.
Duplantis failed to clean 6.02m, which given Kendricks the victory on count-back. Bronze went into Poland’s Piotr Lisek.
From the men’s 800m final, Donavan Brazier’s daring tactics paid off because he won in 1 minute 42.34 seconds – a new championship and USA record.
The 22-year-old, second in the world ranking behind the injured Nijel Amos of Botswana, started his bid to get dwelling from 300m outside and maintained his form to win his first title.
Bosnian Amel Tuka promised silver along with Kenya’s Ferguson Rotich was also still next.
