Team news, predictions and essential stats before Norwich vs Manchester City in the Premier League
Norwich have been struck by a series of injury cases before winners Manchester City’s visit. Full-back Max Aarons (ankle) is put for a spell out after injury on international duty with England U21s, while fellow miniature Lions defender Ben Godfrey is going to be assessed to a groin problem.
Goalkeeper Tim Krul (elbow) can be doubtful and on-loan City winger Patrick Roberts isn’t eligible to face his parent club. Midfielders Mario Vrancic and Moritz Leitner (both calf) are sidelined, combined with Tom Trybull (foot ), whilst captain Christoph Zimmermann (foot), shield Timm Klose along with winger Onel Hernandez (both knee) all carry their own rehabilitation.
City defender John Stones is healthy to return following a thigh injury. He will choose the area of Aymeric Laporte, that has been ruled out for five to six weeks. Striker Gabriel Jesus (thigh) comes in contention and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has overcome a stomach bug but Benjamin Mendy (knee) is not yet prepared to go back and winger Leroy Sane (knee) is out long term.
Norwich vs Manchester City is live on Saturday Night Football from 5pm; kick-off 5.30pm. In-game clips can be watched by sky Sports clients from the game blog about the Sky Sports site and app. Highlights will be printed on the Sky Sports digital programs along with the Sky Sports Football YouTube channel soon.
You have no reason to look at Man City’s issues and stress, apart from the injury to Aymeric Laporte possibly. Norwich are great going forward – Teemu Pukki is being talked about by everyone but Todd Cantwell has started great. They will not be doing that against City, although the full-backs prefer to have high. The Norwich defenders will probably be emptied from Pep Guardiola’s side. Tells you something.
Daniel Farke does not embrace – . If you ask 90 percent of Norwich fans now when they would take a 4-1 hammering trying to open up the game, or if they’d rather lose 1-0 rather than have a shot on goal, I believe they would go for the former. They ought to go in it from a positive aspect, which is how you examine yourself although it is not an embarrassment shedding to Manchester City. As was Raheem Sterling within the break, which is why I will go with this scoreline, kevin De Bruyne was great in Glasgow.
CHARLIE PREDICTS: 2-6 (66/1 with Sky Bet)
